WINTER & SNOW
A day on the slopes, a toboggan run or a walk through a snowy landscape: Here you will find winter ideas with our own pictures. Snow, trail conditions and operations change quickly. The linked operators show the current options.
SKI DAY IN THE TYROLEAN MOUNTAINS
At the Hahnenkamm above Reutte, you can combine a day of skiing with panoramic mountain views. Our photos show the pistes, lifts and views across the snowy landscape. This excursion takes you from Füssen to nearby Tyrol and complements the winter activities on the Allgäu side.
Choose your runs based on the current piste map and your skiing ability. Before you arrive, the cable cars will show you which lifts and slopes are actually open. Plan your ski pass, suitable equipment and, if necessary, a ski course in advance. For accompanying persons, the open mountain offers and refreshment stops are an option; they must be checked separately.
Good to know: Check live operation, piste map and ski pass offers directly from the mountain railways.

CURVES THROUGH THE WINTER LANDSCAPE
When the snow conditions are right, the sporty toboggan run leads from Buchenberg down to Buching. The route is approximately 2,5 kilometers long. Our pictures show the snow-covered paths and the winter landscape on the mountain. Depending on current operations, the ascent and the stopover can be combined with the Buchenbergbahn.
According to the operator, toboggans can be rented at the valley station. Depending on the snow and temperature, the descent requires technical skills and is not suitable for small children. Take time to assess speed and conditions, and be aware of other trail users.
Good to know: The operator closes the track for preparation work from 17 to 9. Check previous release and condition; Helmet and non-slip footwear make sense.
UNDERSTANDING WINTER MOUNTAIN TERRAIN
The ski touring educational trail at Tegelberg begins at the valley station and leads through the winter forest towards Rohrkopfhütte and on to the mountain station. The basics of behavior in winter mountain terrain are explained at eleven stations. Our pictures show the landscape along a ski tour on Tegelberg.
The nature trail runs outside the secured piste area. It does not replace training or an assessment of the current avalanche situation. A tour requires suitable equipment, knowledge and planning according to weather and snow conditions. Follow the designated ascent route and take into account intersections with the descent operation.
Good to know: Only go with appropriate experience, avalanche equipment and an up-to-date assessment of the situation. The Tegelbergbahn requires an avalanche transceiver; Check clearances and avalanche reports in advance.
QUIET SHORE AND WIDE MOUNTAIN VIEWS
Even in the cold season, the Hopfensee is a nice destination for a walk. On the promenade, the deep winter light changes the view of the mountains. If the path is in good condition, you can explore a section of the bank and then take a break in Hopfen.
Your own photos show ice skating on the lake during a previous frost period. They are not a statement about the current load-bearing capacity of the ice. For a planned ice skating day, the public run in the Füssen ice stadium is better; You can find the times from the operator. On natural ice, current local information is crucial.
Good to know: The appearance of the ice does not indicate that it is safe to walk on. Stay on the riverside paths without express local approval.
AT A CALM SPEED THROUGH THE SNOW
You can also experience winter on foot around Füssen. Cleared walking paths, designated winter hiking trails and guided snowshoe tours each have their own character. The official winter hiking map helps you choose a route that suits your day.
Plan to include daylight, clothing and non-slip footwear. Summer paths are not automatically suitable in the snow. On a snowshoe tour off the beaten path, terrain, avalanche conditions and nature conservation play an important role. To get started, a guided offer is a good way to get to know the region.
Good to know: Please note current path conditions and closures. If it is slippery, adapt the tour and avoid sensitive wildlife habitats.
